Bitclub, Onecoin, PlusToken, Cloud Token and EXW Wallet: These projects are all MLM scammers and scams.

Two days ago, Kraken CEO Jesse Powell posted a tweet complaining about Decentralized Finance (DeFi). Despite the fact that Kraken has listed some projects himself, Powell got excited about the rushed projects. In his opinion, many projects went live too quickly and then hoped for the support of Exchanges as soon as there were errors in the log.

„Make the DeFi Projects Fail“ – Jesse Powell

Powell vented his anger in an October 26 tweet. The Kraken CEO said that DeFi projects should finally invest in insurance and security audits.

Powell criticized the current strategy of many DeFi projects, pointing out that they repeatedly sought the blame on others.

I will not accept that you keep trying to pass the costs of your hasty and completely reckless rollouts on to external parties. Finally invest in audits. Accept the losses because that is arguably your only path to enlightenment.

The trigger for this tweet was arguably the recent case of Harvest Finance.

Harvest Finance Hack: $ 24 Million Loss

As a reminder: A hacker was able to steal 24 million dollars from the liquidity pool of the yield aggregator Harvest Finance.

The project is just one example of the many major hacks and protocol errors in Decentralized Finance in recent months.

In August of this year, for example, yield farmers deposited more than $ 400 million in the Yam Finance Protocol, which had not had an audit up to that point.

Two days later, the project failed because there was an error in the rebasing mechanism of the protocol. The consequence was a price crash of 90%.

Other examples, such as the relocation from Uniswap to SushiSwap, show that many people operate in the DeFi space without carrying out any tests beforehand.

Last but not least, we can point out the Eminence project. This project was started by Yearn.Finance founder Andre Cronje. The founder emphasized that it was still in development. However, some put millions in the log, and so there was a hack here too.

DeFi tokens on Kraken

Despite all of these known dangers, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) must be taken seriously. Kraken CEO Powell has also recognized this and so his exchange also lists DeFi tokens.

The best-known examples are Compound (COMP), Uniswap (UNI) and Yearn.Finance (YFI).
